Little Lily had her four-month check up today! She's in the 50th percentile for both weight and height coming in at 13lbs 8oz and 24 inches. Our two-foot-tall jelly bean received excellent reviews after her check up and took her second round of vaccinations like a champ. Instead of losing her temper and just screaming her head off in reaction to the pain of the pricks, Lily began to yell at us in her own little language. We hear her all the time babbling to us (and the dog, and the wall, and the ceiling fans, and total strangers) in Lily Lingo and today she simply raised her voice. Pretty strange, really. Instead of sobbing she was scolding! And my oh my she put the shame on us! No doubt this little lady has a future in politics.
For right now, la petite princess is catching up on beauty sleep and hopefully when she wakes she'll have forgiven us for putting her through this horrific ordeal. After all - she had to miss Oprah today.
Dear Lily: At this point in your life, you prefer grape flavor to cherry in regards to acetaminophen

Water Lily!
With the first day of summer just 2 days away, we decided it was time for our little one to get used to the pool (seeing as we southerners live in or around one during the summer months!) Lily loves her baths so we knew she would take to the open water like a fish - and she did! The weather was perfect and so was the water. A perfect day for our own little water baby.

Giggle Fit
Dear Lily,
Yesterday you made me laugh. I mean really really laugh. Hard. You've made me chuckle, giggle and even cackle and I've given you a few things to smile about ('cause let's face it- I'm ridiculous); but yesterday you made me laugh. I put you on my hip for the first time to see if you could hold yourself up yet (you can't). But in trying you looked up at me and as if to concede how silly you looked, dissolved into a full blown giggle fit. This, in turn, got me going and with you dangling on my hip we laughed together until tears were rolling down both of our faces. It was truly a first. Best ab workout I've had in a while. I love you, Lily. Thanks for the laughs!
Keep laughing,
Mommy

Life's a Beach!
This Memorial Day weekend was a big weekend for little Lily's little toes! For the first time these little piggies were stuck in a car for longer than 20 minutes (2.5 hours to be precise), they felt sand, they felt ocean water, and they went shopping at their first outlet mall.
This weekend Mommy, Daddy and Lily went with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Heather and cousin puppy Tally to the family beach house in Destin. Lily was just fabulous on the trip over and quickly adapted to the vacation state of mind. Lounging on the shore, enjoying the cool salty breeze, bottle on demand, and designer outlets; at 3 months she is now a beach bunny, a star shopper and diva supreme!
